What is Massage Therapy?
For centuries we have understood the importance of touch as a healing tool. For comfort, for support, for healing, to create a sense of being at home in our body.
With life's many challenges it is possible to become very disconnected and stuck in our head, in our thinking mind. Massage has the ability to give us a sense of embodiment. A feeling being at peace with our self.
What is Massage good for?
Relaxation. Emotional regulation. General Wellbeing. Recovery from injury and some surgeries. Chronic Fatigue. Pregnancy. Menopause. Migraine. To support a physical training programme.
What will happen in my Massage Session?
The therapist will take a full history of the reason for attending and learn of any issues or challenges you may be facing now.
You will be asked to undress down to underwear and rest on the massage bed covered with a sheet for modesty.
Using a combination of manual techniques the therapist will listen to the story the body is revealing through touch and then work with with a variety of techniques to soothe, nourish, release, reenergise your body.
Dawn is an exceptionally highly trained and experienced therapist with skills in many body work techniques including Massage, Myofascial, Cranial Sacral, Yoga and Pilates. She brings her wide skills as a therapist to the table and your session to offer a treatment that is unlike any other. So much more than a massage.
How Long is a Session?
A session can last for between 30-40-60 mins. Your first appointment will usually be one hour long.
