I am a person-centred trained counsellor with 10+ years experience in working therapeutically with children, young people and adults. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.

I have worked in a variety of settings and with a diverse range of issues. These include, but are not limited to, anxiety, stress, depression, loss, attachment issues, relationship problems, low self esteem, family separation, anger, transitions and self harm. I believe that my empathetic and non-judgemental approach facilitates the relationship between myself and my clients. The quality of the relationship provides a catalyst for the client's personal growth and improved emotional well being. Whatever your issues, I am here to listen.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and practice according to their strong ethical framework, assuring a competent and confidential service.

Understanding the person-centred approach:

"The counsellor or psychotherapist in this approach works to understand an individuals existence from their point of view. The Counsellor must positively value the client as a person in all aspects of their humanity, while aiming to be open and genuine. This is vital to helping an individual feel accepted and better understand their own feelings and sense of self worth. This re-connection with their inner resources enables them to find their own way to move forward."

Supervision:

I hold a Diploma in Clinical Supervision. For counsellors, supervision is essential to practising effectively and ethically. Having a space to fully explore and reflect upon ones client work and its impacts upon us can only ever be of benefit- to us and our clients. It can also help allied professionals to have a space to explore and reflect upon the impact of their work. As a Person-Centred supervisor I offer the core conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard to ensure a supervisory relationship that is based on mutual respect, safety and trust and that can facilitate the supervisee's personal development.
